Review Podz
Produced and Developed by: Kenny Kilfara and Allen Partridge
Art by: Walter Stephens
URL: http://insight.director-3d.com/studio/podz/
Overview
At first glance Podz may look like a game that is simplistic, having only a little bit of depth to it. After playing it for the first time, you will see that this is not true and realize that the game is very complex and can be addicting. Whether you are an avid gamer trying to master the game or a less experienced player just trying to waste some time, this game has the potential to capture your attention.

Castle Attack 2 Review
Developer: Firefly Studios
Team: Team Unknown
Tech: Macromedia Shockwave
URL: http://www.2kgames.com/stronghold2/minigame/
Overview
In anticipation of the release of Stronghold 2, Firefly Studios offers this tease to whet the appetites of medieval gamers. Castle Attack 2 is a fairly simple, yet entertaining game and will definitely provide a few rounds of entertainment. Creative sounds and impressive 3-D graphics make this a pleasure to watch as well as play. The only drawback to Firefly’s sampler is the repetitive natures of the game levels, however, drown a few of your invaders in hot oil, or hit them with flaming logs, and you simply won’t care.

Announcing OpenAL Xtra!
OpenAL Xtra is a free, open source scripting Xtra for Macromedia Director that extends Lingo with the basic functions of OpenAL, a cross-platform 3D audio API. With the OpenAL Xtra, a Director developer can arrange sounds around a virtual listener in a simulated, three-dimensional space.
SourceForge Project: http://sourceforge.net/projects/openalxtra/
This release of OpenAL Xtra is a major update of code that was originally released back in 2002. If you've used the old version, you will find that the improvements are numerous.
The present release only supports Windows, but hopefully a MacOS version will soon follow.
Developers are need for:
* Mac port
* better Director tutorials and cool demos.
If you are interested in contributing, please send email to: holysamosa@users.sourceforge.net.

Taumel has featured several new demos - including several nice examples of math driven mesh deformation in 3D and a fairly slick little flight sim, complete with exploding asteroids, through Saturn's rings. You'll find it at Taumel's site
Be sure to space bar through all of the stripe gum samples, they're a blast if you're into mesh deformation.
The real gas here however is the koerperformel (supershapes) demo. Taumel introduced the work on dir3D today stating only that it was a distraction in the persuit of something else. Space bar to scroll through the shapes, you might want to drop your browser size down before you launch.
